13 year old boy switches iPod for Walkman

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/8117619.stm

Some funny parts:
“It took me three days to figure out that there was another side to
the tape. That was not the only naive mistake that I made; I mistook
the metal/normal switch on the Walkman for a genre-specific equaliser,
but later I discovered that it was in fact used to switch between two
different types of cassette.”

And this is what is wrong with school these days:
“In some classes in school they let me listen to music and one teacher
recognised it and got nostalgic. ”

Microsoft’s desperate attempt to regain market share for IE8

This is one of the lamest campaigns by Microsoft yet.

In a desperate attempt to try and get people to download their new Internet Exploerer 8 browser, Micrsoft (Australia it seems) has launced a web campaign in which it is giving out $10,000, hidden “on the internet” but to see the clues you “must” be using their latest browser.
Here are a few screenshots from Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and IE7
Notice how on IE7, there is no mention about ditching your old browser…
Of course Firefox had to come back, and their reply is quite funny. Check http://www.tengrandisburiedthere.com and zoom in on the map

Portuguese movie night in Tallinn

Another installment of the Portuguese movie nights here in Tallinn. The cozy Kinomaja (Movie house) is showing the documentary “Lingua - Vidas em Portugues”, which shows the life in different Portuguese speaking countries. What binds these countries together is this common language, my mother tongue, Portuguese.

Here is a short clip from the movie

As usual, the movie is free and wine will be served (for free as well). So I expect to see a packed kinomaja.
