Portuguese vs Portugese

Translating websites is all the rage, all the companies are doing it.
Big and small

Localization is a big deal, and a big business online. The time when
you only had to read one audience (the “web) in one language (english)
is gone.

New players are joining every day, and Brasil is a major new player.
I’m lucky in that sense, I speak the language. It does upset me mildly when I see such obvious spelling mistakes
being made. I can live with the fact that Brazilian Portuguese is more
available online than European Portuguese (PT-pt). It makes sense.
Brasil far outweighs Portugal in population and number of internet
users.

But really, how good can a translation of a website be, if the
language is being spelled wrong?! There is no such thing as Portugese. It’s PortugUese.

Of course in the chase of this particular webpage, clicking the
"Portugese” (sic) link gets you nowhere. Why did they even bother? Oh well…
